Present: Mr. Wright in the chair; Mr. Rout, and Mr. D. Burns. The minulcs of the last meeting were read and confirmed. • It was resolved that a list of all ratepayers qualified to vote, aud a list of ali those in arrear, should be prepared previous to the next election. It was resolved that Mr. Rout, Mr. Wright, and the Secretary wait upon a solicitor, and take the steps they may deem necessary previous to another election. The following tenders were opened : — For Grove-street: John Ross, -690; Joseph and Charles Bray, the first four chains at £2 175., and the remainder £~i por chain; Robert Turner & Sons, £1 per chain; Wm. Osman, first four chains £3 per chain, ancl the remaiudcr at .£1 10s.; J. VV. Potter, £1 14s. per chain ; Edward Dunlop, £2 10s. per chain. For Bridge-street: Dunlo -, £2 per chain; J. & C. Bray, £1 2s. 6d per chain; J. VV. Potter, £2 Bs. per chain; W. Taylor, £2 per chain; R. Turner & Sons, £.1 55.; A Duvaney. £1 per chain. For Trafalgar-street : Dunlop, £3 15s. per chain; J. & C. Bray, from Church-steps to Sherratt's, | £l 145., from there to river, 15s. per chain ; J. VV. j Potter £3 per chain; R. Turner and Sons; Trafalgar-street, Bray; Bridge-street, Bray; Waimea-street, Bray. j It was ordered that the approaches be lengthened by watling at the bridge at the junction of Nile and Tasman streets, and that tenders be advertised for filling up the approaches. It was resolved tliat Mr. Burns report on Dr. Williams' letter at the next meeting. A lelfKi- *vas received from Mrs. Mills in reference to a contract in Bridge-street, the request of which could not he complied with. It was resolved that Mr. Johnson's letter be post- , poned till next meeting. i ?»!'*. Osman having requested permission to liave 1 water led into his brick yard, it was resolved tliat ! the request be granted under the inspection of the j overseer ; provided that the cutting lately made by > Messrs. Bray and Osman, in Vincent-street, be filled ! hi with gravel. Tlie application of Mr. Akersten for £100 on acconnt of his contract, was complied with. The following accounts were passed — Labor, £45 13s. 3d. ; Akersten, <£lUO ; Falla, £G 13s. 4d. ; Hill, £5 Is. ; Creswell, £9. Tlie balance at the bank, in favor of the Board, was stated to be £350. The Board adjourned till Friday next.
