N.B. — As the above goods must be cleared off, no reasonable offer for them will be declined. 521 PERMANENT BUILDING SOCIETY. npilE fourth report of the Directors of the PerroaI nent Building Society of Nelson, was read at the Annual General Meeting of the Shareholders, held at the Temperance Hall, Bridge-street, on WEDNESDAY, the 23rd of May. In again meeting the Shareholders ; the Directors have the satisfaction of reporting the successful result of another year's operations of the Society, as shown in the statement of accounts now submitted. The working of the Society has been greatly facilitated during the past year in the transferring and repayment of loans, as well as in the withdrawing of shares by some by-laws, which the Directors deemed necessary — for the better management of its affairs — to enact ; the beneficial results of which have been shown since these laws have been in operation, in an increased demand for money at a higher bonus than ruled for some months previously. The profits for the past year, on about. £11 ,000 of subscriptions received, have been nearly £4,320! The division of which sum, in proportion to the various series of shares, makes their value, up to the 31st March last, as under : — £ s. d.
