Mail Office, May 12. Business has been very quiet during the past week in most articles, the only exception being candles, which have advanced considerably in consequence of a demand for shipment ; as much as Is 5d has been given we are informed for one parcel. The market for wheat and flour continues dull ; quotations unaltered. In consequence of over-crowded markets on the West Coast, potatoes have declined in value, and now can be purchased on the wharf at from ,£3 10s to £4 per ton. Apples come in lmt slowly, and are worth from 8s to 9s per bushel. Onions, 28s per cwt. ; butter finds ready sale, at 2s Id per 1b ; cheese, at Is 3d to Is 4d ; Eggs, 3s per dozen ; oats, 4s 6d to ss. per bushel.
