The Grey River Coal IVJine. — We see by the West Coast papers that the Nelson Coal Miuiug Company has commenced operations in earnest, at the mine recently held by Messrs. Ratty and Co., and now supply coal to the steamers at considerably reduced rates. Great benefit will result to this province if this mine is worked with spirit, and the coal sold at such a price as will bring it into general consumption on the West Coast. The Grey district is rich in gold and in consequence enjoys a high state of prosperity; but the coal, by making it a manufacturing centre will add much to its importance.
