THE GREY
Good accounts continue to be received from the Little Grey. The population has increased considerably, aud, judging from the consumption and ready purchase of stores that prevails, the miners are determined to give the district a fair trial. We are informed through official sources that fully 2,000 ozs. of gold have been sent down from that district during the last fortnight. During the last two days there has been a steady stream of population towards the various diggings on the North Beach. Several small but good rushes have taken place, aud in some instances at places previously prospected and temporarily abandoned. The yield of the claims ou the north terraces keeps up, and some of the claims recently opened are turning out very rich. We hear also that a rush, that can hardly be called a new one, is going oh to Nelson Creek, where some rich discoveries have lately been made. At the Twelve-Mile the miners are doing very well, and favorable accounts are to hand from the other up-river divings. The revival, in fact, seem general,
and our Maori Gully correspondent gives a very favorable account of mining in the Arnold district. — Argus.
