INTERCOLONIAL EXHIBITION. The Commissioners for the Exhibition to be held in Melbourne during the present year, are taking measures to secure statistics of Victoria, prepared in an attractive form, by means of the Boroughs and Municipalities, also Photographic Views of Public and Private Buildings, the most agreeable scenery, &c. ; the circular which has been issued by the Commissioners to the various Municipal Councils in Australia, states that ono of the most interesting objects displayed iu the Victorian Court of the London Exhibition of 1862, was the book containing the Statistics of the various Municipalities, which opened to the people of Europe an entirely uew view of the progress and condition of that colony ; it is considered desirable that the statistics of the present year should be placed in a frame, containing Photographic Views of each district ; we draw the atteution of the public to this subject. In. New Zealand, the Provincial Government to a great extent take the place of Municipalities, and could well take this matter in hand, so that each province should be wade well known to the Australian public in a similar way. There arc besides, Hoad snd Education Boards who could furnish valuable statistics, illustrating the progress of their respective Districts ; it is suggested that the Photographs should be of uniform size, 12 in. by 10 iu. being preferred.
