The Wonga Wonga s. left Greymouth at 1 p.m. on the 18th, and arrived here at 3 p.m. yesterday, the 19th, thus making the passage in 25 hours. She experienced fine weather throughout. She brings 30 passengers to this port, many of whom are among the oldest and most respected citizens of Greymouth, and who propose to reside in Nelson during the ensuing winter. The Wonga Wonga reports that the Kennedy arrived at Greymouth when she was leaving, and that the Nelson was expected to leave shortly, for Nelson. The Phoebe left Wellington at 2-30 p.m. yesterday, arrived at Picton same day at S p.m. Left for Nelson this morning at 3 o'clock, and arrived at 1230. Experienced fine weather from Picton. The p.s. Nelson was again offered to public competition by Messrs. Maclean, Fisher, and Co., and was knocked down to Mr. Robert Kilgour, for the sum of £2,700. It is intended to take the steamer to Nelson as soon as the necessary repairs are completed.- W. C. T. The Taranaki, s., lias made some very successful trips. She performed the voyage from Wellington to Napier in 17£ hours; from Napier to Taurauga, with a fierce gale and tremendous head sea, in 29 '.hours; and from Tauranga to Auckland in 10 hours. The Auckland ferry steamer, Waitemata, has been .sold to Messrs. Holmes Brothers, for £1,000, cash. The St. Kilda, s., is about to leave Auckland, for the Chatham Islands, with auother batch of Maori prisoners.
