Great Ocean Race; — We published, some time ago, details of the great ocean race between the China clippers Seriea, 707 tons register, Innes. master, and thejFiery Cross, 689 tons, Robinson,- master, from Foo-choo-foo for London, both ships having left China on the same day, having been towed together to sea, and after a remarkable race, arrived off the Isle of Wight together, but by a stroke of good fortune a tug steamer ran alongside the Eiery Cross, and having taken her in tow, reached Gravesend same tide, and thus secured the premium for having arrived with the - first of the season's teas. Both ships having discharged and loaded again in London, for Shanghai, cleared from London on the 11th October last, passed Deal together on the 13th October, and proceeded. Both these ships were spoken on the Bth November in the same latitude and longitude, viz., lat. 6.49 N., long. 2:2-53 W., the race out being apparently as keen as the race home. On the passage out last year the Seriea beat the Fiery Cross " down the sea "by two days. The future of these celebrated clippers will now be watched with additional interest. — Glasgow Herald. NOTICE TO MARINERS. The following signals will be used at night, for steamers arriving off the Lighthouse: — 1. A blue light will be burnt when the pilot-boat is coming off. Steamer not to anchor. 2.
