The Lady Denison. — This fine vessel left Wanganui for Sydney on the afternoon ofthe 21st February, aud reached her destination ou the 2nd March, thus making the run in less thau ten days. She was to sail again for Wangauui on the 19th March, being only 26 days from her leaving this port. The owners, have laid on the Lady Deuisou as a. regular trader betweeu Wauganui and Sydney. Pipiriki. — There are about 60 of the Native Coutingeufcat this outpost. Pehi has offered to surrender, aud we are told that full •400 of the Contingent aud Kupapas have determined upon proceeding, iu a few days, to the Mangaihou pa, Pehi's stronghold, to demand his unconditional surrender. These men are acting under no orders, it will be an ■expedition, and a battle if needs be, strictly on their owu account. They have deterrniaed. that Pehi shall not retain so -formidable a position as the Mangaihou pa iu their neighborhood, and that lie must either surrender unconditionally or fight it out. The Drowning at the Wanganui Heads. — Two of the bodies were found by Mr. John Morgan on the beach ou Thursday last, and another, by whom we have not ascertained, either on Sunday or yesterday. The latter was unlit to be removed, aud was buried on the beach not far from where found. The two former were couveyed to the Red Liou Hotel where an inquest was held on them by Hugh Ross, Esq., District -Coroner ou Friday aud Saturday last. One of the bodies was identified as that of Mr. Roberts, and the other as one of tlie seamen, supposed to be Johnston. — <W. Times, April 3.
