Good Luck. —A lady residing in the country, came into town this morning, to make some purchases. On going into one of the principal stores, she suddenly missed her money, upwards of £30. She immediately retraced her steps, and fortunately found a little girl unrolling a bundle of notes she had jus*- picked up. The la<ly joyfully rewarded the little girl, and regained her lost, treasure. Mr. Oxley was voted to the chair, and addressed the meeting in his usual eloquent manner, setting forth the objects of the meeting, and the advantages of the volunteer organization. 47 gentlemen gave their names in as members, and the following gentlemen were dented as officers, subject to the «pp>:-»val of liis Excellency the Governor : — Mr. Alborough, Captain ; Mr. J. Littlk Grey Rush. —By the latest advices we learn that the new discovery at the Little Grey is not turning out so satisfactory ns was expected. The William Miskin, s., which arrived at Hokitika on the 4th instant, brought discouraging accounts.
