Mary Thompson, for Havclock : 1 ton ilour. The Gothenburg left Hokitika at 4 p.m. on Thursday, 5tV instant, and arrived at the outer anchorage at 4.30 p.m. on the 6th, making the passage in 24 hours. Experienced strong N.N.W. winds with heavy rain, until abreast of Rocks Point ; from thence light S.W. winds and fine weather. 31st, blowing a heavy gale from E.S.E., with a very heavy sea . the ship was hove too under close-reefed sails for 52 hours. At S a.ra. on the 2nd inst., gale moderated a little, went oti full speed ; anchored off Hokitika at 3 a.m., making the passage in seven days eight hours. Landed 150 tons cargo and 130 passengers, and left for this port as above. She leaves for Melbourne via Hokitika, on Monday afternoou's tide. The Claud Hamilton arrived off Hokitika as the Gothenburg left.
