WELLINGTON.
Captain Milo, of the ketch Falcon, has made a proposal to the Provincial Government of Marlborongh, offering to run his vessel between Wellington and Blenheim, calling at Picton each way. and carrying mails, &c, for a bonus of £500 per annum. The Picton Cricket Club have challenged the Empire City, and an eleven from Picton will leave that city on the 22nd. A return match will shortly afterwards be played. Wednesday, 13th June, is appointed by the directors ofthe New Zealand Steam Navigation Company as the due date of the ninth (and final) call on the second series of shares in that company, at the rate of 10s. per share. There are 32 patients at present in Wellington Hospital. Captain Percy progresses as favonrably as can be expected, and enjoys good spirits; Murphy, whose arm was amputated at the shoulder a few days Bince, is doing well ; the others are fast recovering. — Wellington Evening Post.
