Left for California. — Several houses interested in the boot and shoe trade have had an unpleasant surprise, by the disappearance of one of the largest retail dealers, the proprietor of several retail boot and shoe shops in this city. He is said to have cleared for San Francisco, on .Sunday, Jast, leaving liabilities, amounting to over £2.0,000, of which one lipuae claims £9,000. — S. M. Herald, March 7.
