A DAILY PAPER FOR NELSON.
mHE NELSON EVENING MAIL is Published JL Daily, at Four p.m. Price One Penny. No expense will be spared by the Proprietors itt obtaining for this Journal the most complete and reliable mercantile intelligence from the chief commercial centres of New Zealand, Australia, etc. ; authentic accounts from the various Gold-fields of the "West Coast and other parts of the Colony ; the earliest intelligence of all matters of local interest, of the progress of events in the North Island; the English and Colonial news, on the arrival of each mail steamer ; and of all matters likely to be of interest to the Inhabitants of this City. Arrangements will be made to Qugage competent correspondents in the various Country Districts of this Province, and in all other parts of this Colony and Australia ; advantage will be taken of the Telegraph when completed to obtain the earliest intelligence of all matters of importance. The Government Gazette announcements of interest will be inserted ; a carefully compiled digest of commercial information published weekly; in fact no pains will be spared to render the Evening Mail a iirst-class Mercantile Journal ; and the proprietors, trust that the low price at which it is issued will ensure it so -wide and extensive a circulation as to render it a valuable medium for advertising. The want of a Journal of this description has long been felt here, this town being so centrally situated, in such close proximity to the rich Gold-fields of the West Coast, the port of departure of so many lines, of steamers, and where the commercial connections of its merchants extending to every part of New Zealand, render a daily paper an almost imperative necessity ; the proprietors therefore trust that their exertions to supply an evident requirement will be duly appreciated by the public, and that such an amount of support will be accorded, as will enable them to bring their undertaking to a prosperous issue.. The Evening Mail will not pretend to be in any resjiect a Political Paper ; yet as occasion may oifer, when it will be necessary to express an opinion upon. such ni alters, the proprietors desire to state that it will be a thoroughly independent Journal, attached to no party, devoted to no faction, seeking only to advance the interests of this Province, and the prosperity of the entire Colony. _ It is almost needless to point out to business men. the great advantages offered by this Journal, as a medium for advertising, as it will enable them to, place their announcements daily before the public.
