Ashley Bank Sunday School Concert

A concert given by the Ashley Sunday School scholars, assisted by the pupils of Miss Rodgers and Miss June Forgeson, was held in the Ashley School on Thursday evening in aid of prize funds. Solo items were given by Misses Grace Macann, Nancy Scott, Mavis Macann, Joy and Shona Hill, Hazel Scott, Joyce Cossar, Helen Devlin, Marie Jackson, Evelyn Reid, Masters lan Scott, Colin Hill. Accompanists were Miss Rodgers, Miss E. Bowbyes and Miss June Forgeson. The Rev. R. Taylor, on behalf of the parents and the audience, thanked all who had in any way assisted to make the evening a success. The Rev. R IT. Williams proposed a vote of thanks to the teachers which was carried by aolamation.

"The opening item in a pierrot show should be in the hands of an experienced performer," says one of the numbers. The early turn so often gets the bird.
