Basketball Team Entertained At Dance At Ashley

The Cheviot basketball team Avere entertained at a dance given in their honour in the Ashley school on Saturday evening. There Avas a very large attendance and dance music was played by Mrs J. Vallanee and Mr J. Cameron. Extras being contributed' by Mrs E. Taylor.

Mr A. Lindsay made an efficient master of ceremonies. Novelty dances Avere aa'oii by Mr E. Turner and partner and Mr L. Cooke and partner. Those present included Mesdames D. McCrenor, A. Schmidt, G. Miss E. BoAvbyes Avas referee. CARD EVENING The first of a series of Aveekly card evenings took place in the school on Tuesday. There A\as a fair attendance and highest scores Avere gained by Miss J Croft (20) and Mr C. DoAvning (24). At the conclusion of the play supper AAas served by tho ladies.
