Obituary

MR J. WHITE

The death occurred on Sunday of Mr John White, well known as a successful farmer in Swannanoa, until five years ago, when he retired to live in Rangiora. The late Mr White was a keen supporter of the Methodist Church, and for 30 years was secretary of the Swannanoa Church Trust and also secretary of the Church Cemetery Board. Mr White took an interest in local affairs. For several years he was a vice-president of the Swannanoa Tennis/Club and the Swannanoa Cricket Club. On his retirement he joined the Rangiora Bowling Club. A large number of friends attended the funeral at the Swannanoa Methodist Cemetery. The . Rev. H. Ryan conducted the service at the graveside.
