As a mark of attention to 'our women readers we are publishing from now on a series of fashion features which, in pictures and text, should be of interest.

A new and unusually successful composition of velvet is to be found in this becoming, femininity-stressing evening gown. The skirt is of black taffetaj which forms a festive rustling basis for the fluffy tulle dress. The velvet, which is used in the broad shoulder straps, the tapering belt and the ribbon trimming on the skirt, gives character to the dress.

HOW TO MAKE LEMON HONEY

4 eggs lightly beaten, lib. sugar, i lb butter, grated rind and juice of 4 lemons. Put all ingredients into double saucepan and stir gently (occasionally) until it thickens (about 20 minutes). Then you can make these delightful Lemon Honey Tartlets: Simply roll Fether-Flake about Jin. thick, cut into small rounds with cutter, score top with smaller cutter. Bake in a quick oven about 15 minutes. When cool, gently press in the top with finger. Fill with lemon honey when cold. Materials: About 6 balls mercerised crochet size 40, white. Steel chochet hook No. 9. Beginning at neck make a chain as long as you want the collar to be. Ist Row: D.c. in 4th ch. from hook, and d.c. in each st of foundation ch. Ch 4, turn. 2nd How: + Ch 4, s.c. in next d.c, repeat from + to end of row. Ch 6, turn. 3rd, 4th, and sth Rows: Work ch—4 loops across, and ch 6to turn at the end of each row. 6th to 9th Rows incl.: Work s—ch loops across, ch 7, turn. 10th to 13th Rows incl: Work ch—6 loops across, ch 8, turn. 14th to 17th Rows incl: Work ch—7 loops across, ch 9, turn. 18th to 21st Rows incl: Work ch—B loops across, ch 10, turn. 22nd to 32nd Rows incl: Work ch—9 loops across, ch 11, turn. Starch collar lightly and press.
