County Council’s Loss MESSRS W. STALKER AND A. McINTOSH Two members of Rangiora County Council sent their resignations in to this morning’s meeting: Mr W. Stalker and Mr A. Mclntosh. Because of illness, Mr Stalker, then chairman, was excused from duty last year. He now intimated his intention of resigning “for all time.” , Mr Mclntosh asked members to accept his resignation because of illhealth. The chairman (Cr H. Tallott) paid a tribute to the services of both men, and expressed the Council’s appreciation of their long records of service in giving their wisdom and energy in the interests of Rangiora County. Cr C. Rands seconded his motion of appreciation, and the resignations were accepted with regret. Both men have taken an active part in County work since the Council’s inception. Mr Mclntosh, who was present, expressed his thanks and regret at the necessity which forced him to make the decision. Mr Mclntosh had been been a member for 25 years, missing not one term since first elected. He will shortly be 75 years of age, and was an original member of the Council. He has been one of the three men who have presided at Council meetings during the past 25 years. Mr Stalker’s membership covered 21 years. He was chairman for 10 years.
