CHILDREN’S PARTY

Folk Dances and Fancy Dress HAPPY GATHERING AT OXFORD The children of Oxford School from infants toi Standard 11. were given a fancy dress party in the Town Hall on Wednesday afternoon, December 14th. The first part of the programme consisted of folk dances by the children: then Father Christmas arrived •and every child received a gift from a well-laden Christmas tree. Refreshments were served to the children and parents by the Ladies’. Committee. At the conclusion of the party, Mr Rycle, on behalf of the School Committee, thanked the school staff for their efforts to give 1 the children such a happy ending to the year’s work. Miss Ailsa March (Loburn) will leave after Christmas, to visit Mrs J. E. T. Cameron, Ben Oban Station, South Canterbury. Mr and Mrs S. Ayers and Mis« Thelma Ayers (Rangiora) left on Tuesday evening for a trip to the North Island. Miss Dorrie Gillett (Mount Guardian, Hundalee) is the guest of Mrs A. Mclntosh (Flaxton). The choir hoys of St. John’s Church were recently entertained at the home of Miss Rose Horrell, when they took the opportunity of presenting her with an enlarged photograph of themselves jm recognition of the trouble she had taken in training them.
