6 To Campbell
The turning point in the other semifinal between Campbell and Wilding was a six to Campbell on the 10th head. ' Prior to this the teams Were level at 6-all, and Wilding, thereafter was struggling to regain the initiative. Campbell took singles off the 11th and 12th, but Wilding fought back to gain a two and one on the next two, to reduce his deficit to five. Campbell got the three back on the 15th and 16th, but Wilding came again with a three off the 17th, to trail 18-13. There was still a disparity of five when they came to the 20th. Campbell held three shots there, but Wilding drew a beauty with his last bowl, to be four down coming to the 21st. MacDonald drew the shot for Campbell on the last end, and Wilding could not remove it. Campbell thus scored a well-deserved 19-14 win. Semi-Finals Penk, Eccles, Rumbal.
