Attracting U. S. Investments
MELBOURNE, Tue. (11 a.m.).— The Minister of Supply and Development (Mr Casey) said the new Department of National Development would encourage American industries to build factories in Australia.
It would also find ways to boost Australia’s dollar earnings. He added that Americans would, be encouraged to .nvest in Australia's future by expansion of Australia's productive resources.
Australia must earn more dollars to buy aapitai machinery and goods Needed for developmental projects. Mr Casey is spending the Christmas and New Year period planning the new department which is expected to be in full operation before Easter.
