SYDNEY, Thu. (1.30 p.m.).—A businessman, Mr A. Appleroth, has paid to nsure the hands of a Ukrainian pianist, Anatoly Miroszyk. for £20.000 against possible damage while Miroszyk. who is a displaced person on a Government contract, is working at his allotted task ps a hospital orderly. Miroszyk, who studied at the Freiburg Conservalorium in 194548 and gave recitals to American occupation forces in Germany, is being encouraged to develop his talent by Eugene Goossens, conductor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. When released from his contract in 1950, he hopes to earn his living as a concert pianist.
