Dock Dispute May Be Settled
WELLINGTON. Thu. (P.A.) No official report was given when the national executive of the New Zealand Waterside Workers’ Union adjourned at lunch today, but unofficial sources expect that the overtime dispute in Auckland will be satisfactorily settled. The dispute has already involved over 800 men, who are on three-day penalty for not accepting overtime work.
The secretary of the union (Mr T. Hill) stated at the lunch adjournment that discussions were not yet finalised.
Australian Bowlers MELBOURNE, Thu., (1 p.m.).— Australian bowlers will be represented at the Empire Games in Auckland by G. de V. Bosisto (Victoria), Australia singles champion, A. D. Palrr (Queensland), and the winners of the (Queensland), leader in the pairs champion, and R. Lewin (Queensland), and the winners of the Australian fours championship, John Cobley. Knight, C. Cobley, and James Cobley, all of Parkes, New South Wales. Mr Cobley and Knight are over 70.
