ATHLETICS POSTPONED
Heavy rain yesterday caused the postponement of the Whangarei Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club’s first evening meeting. The programme will be gone on with at the WBHo grounds at 5.45 tonight.
HEALTH STAMP RECORD With returns yet to come from 10 postal districts, the health stamp sales target of £IOO.OOO has been exceeded by a substantial margin, states advice received from, Whangarei’s Chief Post Office. This is a new record for the 21 years health stamps have been on issue. The previous record was £90.010 last year. As a consequence of the new record, supplies of health stamps are now limited, there being in the vicinity of only a tew thousand pounds worth throughout some 2000 post offices. Intending purchasers are advised to obtain their requirements early.
