Portraits Of Benes, Masaryk Absent
PRAGUE, Sun., (1 p.m.).— Czechoslovakia's Communist leaders today reviewed a two hours' parade of Czech military power in celebration of the 31st anniversary of the founding of the Czech Republic.
While chilled thousands watched, units of the army, the security police and blue-clad workers’ militia marched past. A march of thousands of workers into Prague’s main square preceded the review.
Flags of Czechoslovakia and Russia flew side by side in Prague which was plastered with huge pictures of Communist President Gottwald and Generalissimo Stalin. Portraits of the two main founders of the republic—former Presidents T. G. Masaryk and Eduard Benes—were absent.
Celebration of the Anniversary had been changed from last Friday to today to save a working day.
