Diamonds Stolen

BRUSSELS, Sun.—Three masked men armed with rifles stole a large number of diamonds from the office of M. Mandel Lanrau, an Antwerp liamond dealer.

With an assistant and a client, M. I andau was working in his office when the thieves entered. Two covered the client arid the assistant with rifles and t.he third knocked M. Landau unconscious with a rifle butt. The thieves escaped in a fast car.

Foreign agents and “mushroom” importing firms are making profits as high as £IOOO a crate of 5000 spectacle lenses eventually paid tor by the taxpayer under the national health scheme, reports the London newspaper The People.
