Beatty's Son's Fatal Fall From Ritz

LONDON, Wed. (11 a.m.)—Tile Hon. Peter Beatty, 39-year-old son of the late Admiral of the Fleet Lord Beatty, fell from a sixth-floor window at the Ritz, Piccadilly, and was killed. Mr Beatty was staying at the hotel with his brother, the present earl. Mr Beatty suffered from,a serious eye ailment, and was nearly blind. A man-servant helped him to walk about.

He had gone alone to the top floor of the hotel soon after getting up this morning.

Mi' Beatty won the 1933 Derby with Bois Roussel.

Six people were killed and 41 injured when a French Diesel train ran off the rails at Barbentane, near Avignon, in Southern France. The train was travelling from Cebere, on the Spanish frontier, to Avignon.
