fencing Championships

DUNEDIN. FrL (P.A.)—The New Zealand fencing championships were opened this morning by the acting Mayor (Mr L. M. Wright), in the presence of Sir Joseph Ward, president of the New Zealand Amateur Fencing Association.

There are 46 entrants from nine sword clubs competing—Auckland, Wellington. Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Invercargill, Nelson, YWCA, and Victoria University. Results were:

Auckland beat Wellington (men); Canterbury beat Otago-Southland (men and women).
