Bos Murphy K.O.s Whyte
LONDON, Thu. (11 a.m.).—Bos Murphy, of New Zealand, knocked out to Whyte, but found him a difficult weight champion, in the fourth round of a 10-round contest at Liverpool tonight.
Murphy had a weight advantage ot 441 b. The New Zealander carried the fight to Whye, but found him a diffifflcult target, with Whyte defending cleverly In the second round Whyte cut loose, to hurt Murphy severely with successive left hooks to the chin and righ*3 to the heart.
Murphy always fought back gamely,
In the third round he drove Whyte to the ropes and dropped him for 9 with a left hook to the body.
In the fourth round two left hooks to the body by the aggressive Murphy forced the Scot to take two further counts of 9 and he was down again for 9 with a straight right to the jaw. Whyte tried to get in close to avoid the accurate punching Of Murphy, who, however, shot another left hook to the body, which knocked Whyte beneath the bottom rope and he hung over the press table to be counted out .
