Want Australian Farmers In Bay

KAIKOHE, Fri. (Sp.).—A move is to be made to have the itinerary of the visiting party of Australian farmers altered so that they can see sometiling of conditions in the Bay of Island^ Their itinerary to date allows only for visits to localities in and around WhangareL The question was raised by Mr J. W. Byers at the meeting this week"of the Northland College committee of management. “LEFT OUT AGAIN”

"It appears to me we are going to be left out again,’’ said Mr Byers, recalling the similar circumstances that obtained in regai-d to the visit of Professor W. E. Petersen, the American milking authority. He moved that Mr E. H. Arnold, of the Department of Agriculture, who is to accompany the New South Wales party, be approached to see if a visit could not be arranged to the Bay of Islands district.

With Mr R. A. Phillpotts seconding this motion was passed unanimously. “I am sure Mr Arnold would like to see them brought here,” said Mr Byers.

"It will probably be the only group of Australian farmers to visit New Zealand this year.

“It will be a pity if they are not given a chance to see the type of country we have here.” Mr Arnold, added Mr Byers, had given Northland College its grass and cropping trials and would do his best to champion the college.

Other members of the committee agreed that the visitors should take in the Bay of Islands during their trip to New Zealand.
