FOOD PARCELS ARRIVE Carrying 5070 food parcels weighing 52,6651 b, the vessel Cusic, which left Napier on August 23, arrived in the United Kingdom on October 10. The parcels were posted in Northland and Auckland between July 22 and 29. DEMAND FOR BUTTER COUPONS For the first day of issuing new butter ration coupons in Whangarei, the demand almost doubled that of last year. Yesterday Whangarei citizens acted promptly in making their applications. 1095 ration cards being issued. The total number of ration cards issued in Whangarei last year was 15,000 and it is expected this figure will be exceeded this year.
