Homing Pigeons Meet Bad Conditions
Birds taking part in the Whangarei Homing Pigeon Club’s race from Palmerston North on Saturday struck bad weather, with head winds and poor visibility. They were released at 7 a.m. but the first bird home did not arrive till 1.30 p.m. the following day. Only two birds were clocked in. The result was: R. Longlands’ mh Echo (462) 1; D. Wilson's rcc Echo (434) 2.
