Town Plan For Kaitaia
KAITAIA, Wed. (Sp.)—The Kaitaia Borough Council’s obligation to finalise a town planning scheme as soon as possible was stressed by the Mayor (Mr D. Archibald, senr.) at the council’s monthly meeting on Monday night. Most of the necessary details had already been covered in a scheme prepared by the former town planning committee, Cr R.. C. Williams said. “Can we afford it?” asked Cr E. M. Clark, when fees payable to a town planning officer were being discussed. “It is not a question of whether we can afford it—it is our duty to get the scheme-under way,” replied the Mayor. Town planning for Kaitaia was long overdue, he added.
The council agreed that the. subject should be discussed fully at the November meeting.
