Most Biologists Accept Evolution
LONDON, Tue. (11 a.m.)—“The vast majority of biologists now accept the theory of evolution—that existing animals, including man, are descendants of very different ones, which lived in the past,” Professor J. B. S. Haldane said today in a public lecture at University College, London. He added that the theory' of evolution was becoming more probable every year because growing knowledge about animals brought greater chances of disproving it. "If we find the skeleton of a horse or man in a coal seam, the theory of evolution, I think, would have to be abandoned.
