EX-SERVICEMEN’S SETTLEMENT Two further areas of land in Northland have been taken for the settlement of ex-servicemen. One block is of 86 acres at Waipu and the other of 7 acres at Mangakahia.
LAND FOR FORESTRY Another large area of Northland land has been set aside as a provisional state forest. According to a Gaze!/ notice 649 acres of Crown land in the Whangaroa County have been reserved for this purpose. Music lovers will look forward to the next concert of the Whangarei Municipal Orchestra, to be held on October 19. The enthusiasm of the players is at a high pitch, and the programme selected should appeal to all tastes. 557
