Kiwi Company Breaks Records

AUCKLAND, Mon. (P.A.) The “Kiwis” Company of Ndw Zealand entertainers which grew from the wartime Kiwi Concert Party, was the finest ambassador in Australia this Dominion has had. This statement was made today by Mr E. E. Wahlquist, business manager of J. C. Williamson’s Theatres, Ltd., who arrived in the Aorangi from Sydney. Since their debut in April, 1946, the Kiwis had played to 1.750,000 people. Their 114th-week season in Melbourne was an Australian record and the company was now playing to crowded houses in its 73rd week in Sydney. While this company’s success was outstanding, several other shows were also having unusually long run in the main Australian centres.
