WEDDINGS
The wedding of Faye Lavinia, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs L. A. Johnson, Whangarei. and Robert Hamilton, son of Mr and Mrs W. H. Green, Auckland, was solemnised recently in the Presbyterian Church, Whangarei. The Rev. J. W. McKenzie, St Andrews Presbyterian Church, Epsom, Auckland, performed the ceremony. The bride, escorted by her father, wore an ivory duchess pure satin frock with a witchcraft ivory lace skirt The satin overskirt forming a basque effect in front fell to a graceful train at the back. The lace mantilla which was worn gave an overall Spanish effect. She carried a posy of ivory roses and orchids. Attending her were Patricia Johnson, sister of the bride, as chief bridesmaid. and Joan Beaver. Oruru, as matron of. honour. The Spanish effect was carried out in these frocks, similar to the bride's, in witchcraft lace and slipper satin in deep cream to pale amber. Their autumn-shaded posies were of roses, berries and orchids. •Mr A. W. Philson was best man and Mr B. Christie groomsman. At the reception held at the Savoy, Mrs Johnson received her guests wearing a cigar-brown boucle coat over a witchcraft lacc frock, with 1 matching accessories. Mrs Green wore a featherweight crepe frock in turquoise with an oldgold belt, black accessories and • fur capt. The bride's travelling outfit was a three-piece dove grey garbardine suit with a dusky pink blouse and hat and black accessories. A solo was sung in the church by Mrs A Dobson. “Love. Cruickshank - Snell
A pretty wedding at the Whangarei Presbyterian Church was that of Hazel Lorraine (Peggy V eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. K. Snell, of Ngunguru, and Murray Irving, eldest son of Mr and Mrs L. C. Cruickshank, of Rotorua. The bride, who was.given away by her father, wore a gown of georgette, with a yoke of lame. The dress was made with bishop sleeves and had a close-fitting bodice, with a pcplum attached. The veil of worked tulle was held in place with a spray of white cyclamen and gladioli. The bride carried a* bouquet of white stocks, roses, gladioli and cyclamen. Attending the bride were Miss Lynne Kjoller and Miss Joan Maureen Goodhew, dressed alike in nile-green georgette. with lame yokes and low-waisted skirts, and with thrccquarter bishop sleeves, held by lame cuffs. They wore topknots of carnations and stocks and carried bouquets of pink carnations and stocks. Mr Brian Cruickshank. brother of the bridegroom, was best.man, and Mr Neville Couchman was groomsman. Tiie reception and dance were held in the Ngunguru district hall, where the guests, numbering 300. were received by Mrs Snell, who wore a wine frock with black accessories. She was assisted by Mrs Cruickshank, who was dressed in a mustard-coloured frock, with brown accessories. For travelling, the bride chose a wine frock, with an off-white swing-back coat, with black accessories. Mr and Mrs Murray Cruickshank will make their home in Rotorua.
