OTTAWA, Sun.—J. Albert Guay, a 31-year-old Quebec jeweller, was charged with murdering his wife by means of a home-made bomb, which exploded on board a Canadian air liner on September 9, killing 22 people. While Guay was being charged, the police maintained surveillance over Mrs Marie Pitre. who they alleged had stated that she had unwittingly placed a bulky package containing a bomb on board the air liner. The police said that. Mrs Pitre admitted taking the package to the air port, where it was placed on board the aeroplane, but she said she did not know t>'o contents of the package. ' They added that a SIO,OOO life insurance policy was taken out on Mrs Guay's life shortly before she left Quebec in the aeroplane. They believe that a love pact might be involved in the case.
