East German Government
No Plans For .
BERLIN, Fri. (12.20 p.m.)—An official spokesman of the Soviet-sponsored People’s Council said today that there were no plans for creating a separate East German Government in the near future.
“A separate East German administration will be formed only when all hope of a united Germany has to be abandoned, and that is not yet,” he said.
The great majority of Germans demanded the rejection of the OderNeisse Line, fixed at Potsdam, as Germany’s eastern frontier, a member of the West German Government, Dr Guenther Henle, declared in Parliament at Bonn today. Dr Henle added that the German people also wanted the restoration of German unity and alignment with the western world. “Our relations with the British people should be friendly. “Unfortunately the vexed question of dismantling has cast a shadow on them. “The British should realise that people who have fresh destruction before their eyes each day, lose faith in reconstruction.” «
