Hotel For Firemen
The decision to purchase the build-, ings and grounds of Hotel Northland (formerly Cintra) in Bank Street, Whangarei, made at a meetitig of the Whangarei Fire Board on November 24, 1948, was confirmed this morning. Discussion of the purchase was taken in committee at a meeting last night, and the confirmation of the previous decision was given at a continuation of the meeting this morning. Permission to buy the property will now be sought from the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Parry). The buildings will be used to house permanent firemen and their families.
