Dibbern’s Offer To Whangarei Yachtsmen

George Dibbern, who is well-known in New Zealand yachting circles, and particularly in Whangarei, where he spent some time last year flitting ou-' for another islands cruise in his yacht Te Rapunga, is wintering at Aitutaki, 140 miles north-west of Rarotonga. In a letter to a Whangarei yachtsman, Mr Dibbern asked to be remembered to all the friends he had made in Whangarei. and said that if he ever came back to New Zealand. Whangarei would be well up on the list of ports where he would call. Ocean wanderer for 25 years, George Dibbern has driven his powerful 32 footer over more than 80.000 miles of blue water. He is planning to carry on to Rarotonga and then decide on one or two trips, either through the islands to Australia and Tasmania, or north to Honolulu and the Pacific Coast. In his letter was an offer to the Whangarei yachtsman of a place in the crew, and only pressure of business prevented his accepting.

Mr C. R. Price. C.M.G. High Commissioner designate for the United Kingdom in New Zealand, and Mrs Price, are expected to arrive in Wellington on September 26 by the Wanganella from Sydney.
