Paradise For Farmers

PALMERSTON N., Tue. (Sp.) After attending the world conference of Jersey breed societies in Jersey in May, and making an extensive survey in Britain, Denmark and the United States, Mr G. H. Dawick, of Palmerston North, secretary of the New Zealand Jersey Cattle Breeders’ Association, has returned to find the Dominion a farming paradise. “The New Zealand climate is such that can produce butter and cheese more economically than any other country in the world.” said Mr Dawick. While overseas he had seen some fine specimens of the Jersey breed, but he believed that the standard in New Zealand was equal to that in any other country. In future the country's wisest policy would be to import a limited number of Jersey cattle —only of the highest possible standard.
