HUNT, Secretarv. 476 NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER Notice is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Whangarei Borough Council held for that purpose on the 22nd day of June. 1949, the following Resolution was passed and it will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held on the 2nd day of August, 1949, at 7.30 p.m. at the Council Chambers, Bank Street, Whangarei. RESOLUTION ’ ' That the Whangarei Borough Council. acting in pursuance of the powers conferred upon it by the Municipal Corporations Act. 1933. and all other powers and authorities in any way enabling, doth herpby make a By-law to be known as By-law No. 29. 1949. The object and purport of the Bylaw is as follows: 1. —To require that any Contractor, Builder. Carter or owner of land or other person wishing to take a cart or vehicle over a footpath other than a property crossing constructed for such purpose, shall apply to the Council l'or a permit to do so and shall pay a fee of £3 for the purpose of repairing any damage that may be done to any such path, but if the repairs do not cost so much as JL’3 the balance shall be refunded and if the repairs shall cost more than £3 the applicant shall pay to the Counci Ithe extra cost. 2. —To provide for the use of Ordinary Building Totara timber for weatherboarding without it being treated effectively with an approved wood preservative by an approved process.
