Decline In Number Of Clergy In N.Z. WELLINGTON, Thu. (P.A.) —A decline in the strength of the Anglican ministry in relation to the adherents to the denomination brought expressions of concern at a meeting of the Wellington Diocesan Synod yesterday. The Archdeacon ol' Wairarapa (the Ven. H. S. I. Kenny) said that in 192 G the Dominion had one clergyman to 118 t adherents. In 1946 the figures were one to 1230. Other denominations had the following numbers to each clergyman:— Presbyterian Lit, Roman Catholic 450, Methodist 410, Baptist 270. In view of the magnitude of the problem the synod decided to instruct the Committee on Recruiting and Training of Candidates to continue its investigation until the next session. • PLANTS FOR SALE i i LIMB INC ROSES ARE BEING SACRI- * ' FICED TOO!
