Rehabilitation Assistance
Only one application for financial assistance was considered by the Whangarei Rehabilitation Committee during the months of May and June. This application, which was for help with furniture removals, was approved. Applications l'or loans for specific propositions totalled 36, made up of housing 11, business 2 and furniture 23. This brings the total number or applications for these classes to 492. 203 and 613.
Forty-four loans were offered in those categories, the greatest number being for furniture, 23. Two were withdrawn or declined during the two months.
Those wailing decision total 47. There were 14 applications for state houses. No tenancies were allotted during the period, and those still requiring tenancies now total ilia. I AUM APPLICATIONS
Seven gradings were made for applicants for farms. In this category the figures include those in the Dargaville district.
Five were graded A, bringing the total for this grade to 609; and two wore graded B U 36).
Applications for full-lime training at ;t rehabilitation mure numbered five, of which four were approved, two w hdrawn or declined and one is awaiting approval. One application was made for subsidised training with a private employer, and one for resumed apprenticeship Educational assistance was granted ! o 12, of which four were original applications. One application for preference or sponsorship was made, in this case tor rationed goods. There were 16 withdrawals of requests for prcfcnence or sponsorship, .15 being for released new cars and one for released new trucks.
