The attack on the palace was launched last niglil after the assassination became known. *
War planes zoomed over the city and armed civilians roamed the streets despile the police curfew orders.
There have been no casualty reports, but ambulances clanged through the streets all night, indicating that some persons had been killed or wounded. Coullicling and confused reports prevent, a clear picture of what is happening, but it appears that a. coup is under way inside the barred. doors of the palace which is Government headquarlers.
Tlu: National Defence Minister • Jacoho Arbenzt and his supporters are reported to be barricaded in his own residence, while a bailie that may decide his political future rages outside 11 10 palace.
