Over 40 Houses In Carruth Block

More than 40 houses are now completed, or in the course of construction, on the Carruth state housing block, Whangarei. Ten units are occupied, and these take up the whole of the Third Avenue frontage of the block. There are 12 in the course of construction on the western side of the newly-completed extension to Second Avenue.

Rehabilitation carpentry trainees have charge of the 19 houses lining both sides of the extension to First Avenue.

Eleven of these have been painted and are otherwise almost complete, while eight are still unfinished. About 30 units remain to be built on the block.
