The first of three 13,000-ton cargo liners for the Shaw Savill and Albion Co., Ltd., the Persic, was launched on Friday in England, according to advice received by the Wellington office of the company. A feature of the design of the Persic and her two future sister-ships is their resemblance to the 15,000-ton Corinthic class liners. Because they will not carry passengers, the three new vessels will have a great capacity for refrigerated and general cargo. They are designed for a speed of 17 knots.
