Titoki Farewells Respected Residents
Having kept the Titoki store and post office for the past 22 years, Mr and Mrs G. F. Brake, accompanied by their two daughters, Miss Margaret and Miss Annette Brake, were the guests of honour on Wednesday night, when some 200 residents of the Mangakahia Valley 'gathered in the Titoki hall to bid them farewell. Mr and Mrs Brake are now living in Whangarei. During the evening Mrs S. Wright made a presentation to Mrs Brake on behalf of the Titoki Women’s Institute, expressing the members’ appreciation of her work as treasurer.
Mr J. Breslin, in making presentations to the guests on behalf of the residents, referred to their record of selfless effort for the benefit of the community.
Miss N. Wilson, representing the pupils of the District High School, presented a further token of esteem
